HEDGE POST & POLES

Hedge is a type of tree also called (bodark) or (Osage Orange). The early settlers originally planted rows of Hedge tress close together every 40 to 80 acres for property line markers and for the use as a natural fence. The hedge tree is cut into post that are not treated or peeled so they have the bark on them. As the hedge wood ages it gets harder for natural longevity from rotting. Hedge wood is durable in all types of soil; even the wettest of soils will not cause rotting for generations to come.

Pressure Treated Creosote and

CCA Post and Poles

  

   The high quality pressure treatment makes southern pine resistant to termites and rot for decades.

 

Treatments:

   Oil-Borne creosote is the oldest pressure applied preservative available. It has proven itself in demanding applications for well over a century.

   CCA- Chromate Copper arsenate, impregnated in solution with water, provides equal protection against wood - destroying organisms while leaving the post clean -to-the-touch and odor free.

CCA Pressure Treated Post and Rail Fence

Post- Size 5 1/2 in. X 6 1/2 ft. The post have predrilled holes with dome tops.
Rails- Size 3 1/2 in. X 8 ft. The rails have doweled ends to fit in pre-drilled holes of post.

  Everwood Post, Manufactured from recycled plastic containers are ever lasting, Permanent Fencing is superb fence post for agricultural use. Grey or white in color, offer customers the opportunity to fence or renew fencing with post that last forever, will not rot. They can be used in all ground/soil types. Everwood post are flexible under normal use- a major benefit recognized by livestock producers who need durable, flexible and permanent fencing. Most common size is 5-inch diameter by 8 Ft. long other sizes available. Everwood post can be cut, stapled and nailed in the usual ways. Self insulating - ideal for use with high tensile steel electric fencing.

Pine Lodge Poles

  

   Smith Postyard also provides 16 Ft. Pine Lodge poles used in major feedlots or smaller corrals for rails.  They are untreated with bark.
